Description: Inpatient Efficiencies- Don’t be the Weakest Link will walk you through challenges and opportunities presented to Community Health Network’s Hospital Inpatient Coding team.  The focus of the presentation will include changes based on the challenges and opportunities including, but not limited to:  Forced changes, Productivity/Quality Metrics, Staffing Challenges past versus current, Employee Engagement and how to manage remote work, discussion on who is looking at our codes and why, including EHR integrations as well as COVID challenges.

Speaker: Jamey McGowen, MBA, RHIA, CCS, CDIP is a Hospital Inpatient Coding Manager for Community Health Network.  She has been with Community Health Network since 2013, previously in a Hospital Chart Completion Role as the Manager.   Prior to Community Health Network she was a HIM Manager for Health Information Department at Monroe Hospital and prior to that, Valle Vista Health System as the HIS Manager.  She has also been an adjunct faculty member for Ivy Tech as well as recently, IUPUI.  She has served as SEHIMA’s President as well Chair for IHIMA’s Professional Development Chair.
