Highlights of The National Correct Coding Initiative

Description: The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) developed the National Correct Coding Initiative (NCCI) to promote national correct coding methodologies and to control improper coding leading to inappropriate payment in Part B claims. This presentation is designed to provide participants with some of the key points of the NCCI system.

Speaker: Geneane R. White, RHIA graduated from Tennessee State University with a BS Degree in Health Information Management. Geneane worked at Methodist hospital for ten years managing Medical Coders and Health Data Analysts.  Geneane was on the forefront of implementing the Diagnostic Related Group Coding process for the hospital. 

As a part time instructor in Medical Coding, Geneane taught ICD and CPT coding through IUPUI continuing studies for 30 years and continues to teach and coach coders.

Geneane currently works for Gainwell Technologies as a Senior Business Analysts where she has been employed for 30 plus years. Geneane has been a business leader on major projects such as HIPAA, NCCI, ICD 10, implementation of the Medicaid Claims processing system, NPI, Electronic Data Interchange System, Development of APR DRG processing and RBRVS processing Systems as well as other reimbursement processing for Indiana Medicaid.     

In addition to Geneane’s Medical Information Management experience, Geneane is a Coach, Speaker and Trainer certified with the John Maxwell Team.
