Speaker: Barbara Carr, RHIA, Senior Strategic Advisor at Verisma, has 40+ years of experience in health information (HI). She most recently served as the assistant vice president of HIM, overseeing clinical documentation improvement and regulatory audits for Einstein Healthcare Network – a multi-facility 800+ bed teaching integrated healthcare system in Philadelphia. Prior to Einstein, Barbara was the corporate director of HIM for Christiana Care – a 1000+ bed teaching healthcare network in Wilmington, DE. She’s currently senior strategic advisor at Verisma. Barbara earned a bachelor’s in health information/medical records administration/administrator from Miami Dade College.
Speaker: Elizabeth McElhiney, MHA, CHPS, CPHIMS, CRIS, Director of Compliance and Government Affairs at Verisma, is responsible for the administration of Verisma’s privacy and compliance programs, collaborating with clients to implement evidence-based best practices and overseeing Verisma’s thought leadership initiatives. Elizabeth has worked in health information (HI) and release of information (ROI) for 15+ years, covering all industry areas from customer service to compliance. Elizabeth is also the current regulatory chair at the Association of Health Information Outsourcing Services (AHIOS). She earned a masters of health administration (MHA) with a specialization in health informatics from Capella University, and a bachelor’s in political science from Illinois Wesleyan University.
