Speaker: Renee Monahan, MBA, FHFMA, CRCR, currently serves as a Senior Director within Optum Advisory’s Financial Operations Practice. In her role, partnered with her Senior Director colleagues, oversees both the Revenue Integrity and EMR/Automation Terrains. Renee has more than 25 years of experience and expertise in health care revenue cycle and reimbursement.

Prior to joining Optum’s consulting division, Renee served in the role of Vice President of Revenue Cycle at Ensemble Health Partners, and in this position held several interim Revenue Cycle Leadership positions at complex Health Systems in Ohio and Michigan.
Prior to 2016, Renee was a Revenue Cycle Executive at Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, overseeing the Revenue Cycle Operational team in an Epic EHR and Financial implementation for both ambulatory and facility. Renee also served as the Vice President of Revenue Cycle at Conemaugh Health System, overseeing both acute and ambulatory revenue cycle and reimbursement strategies. Renee holds both a Bachelors degree in Accounting and an MBA from Saint Francis University as well as HFMA credentials of FHFMA, CHFP, and CRCR.
Speaker: Marc Morhack is a Senior Director within Optum’s Financial Operations Practice and Advisory Services; in which he partners with medical groups, hospitals and health systems in enhancing and optimizing their key revenue and operational performance metrics through a variety of innovative and technological means. Marc is responsible for leading two critical business lines: healthcare automation and electronic medical record / revenue cycle management system optimization and integration. Marc is an expert in healthcare provider automation strategy definition and automation technology implementation. He has led numerous organizations in defining the organizational automation vision and establishing an automation roadmap to successfully achieve the intended goals of the automation investment. Marc specializes in guiding organizations to establish synergy within their automation roadmaps to realize compounding and exponential returns from their automation efforts. Marc’s guidance with clients in their automation journeys also encompasses: garnering organizational enthusiasm and adoption for automation, efficiently and effectively implementing automation technology in key workflows of interest, and identifying and completing the organizational transformation activities that are necessary in tandem with an automation technology implementation to achieve projected returns on investment. Through his leadership of the EMR / RMC practice, Marc has guided dozens of hospitals and health systems with revenue cycle advisory and leadership support for EMR implementation and integration activities, including: strategic visioning, operational transformation, functional integration, system implementation and testing, clinical and business end user expectations education, revenue leakage reduction, post go-live performance forecasting, DNB reduction, workflow and process improvement, and cash acceleration. Marc’s partnerships with his clients has led to consistent achievements of EMR/RCM vendor “Top Customer” recognitions for the rapidity and success in which the health systems achieved key revenue performance indicators. He has global experience with multiple clients based in Europe and within national healthcare systems. Marc holds a Master in Business Administration from the University of Texas and a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering from the US Naval Academy. He is also a Revenue Cycle Executive – Institution (CRCE-I) by the American Association for Hospital Management (AAHAM), and a Project Management Professional (PMP) by the Project Management Institute (PMI).
