Speaker: Jennifer Barlow, MBA, RHIA has been in the HIM profession for 11 years.  She started her career while still in school at the IU HIM program when a professor recruited her for a project at Community Health Network and she has been there since.  Jennier has felt very fortunate to have found a career not a job and a family not just coworkers.  Jennifer began her journey merging duplicate patients, expanded her responsibilities doing special projects including new provider abstraction and Meaningful Use and finally growing into a manager position.  One of the greatest things Jennifer has learned along the way in HIM is the difference between being a manager and being a leader and striving to succeed as the latter. Jennifer has presented at the SIHMA annual meeting and looks forward to presenting at the 2023 IHIMA meeting.  Outside of work, Jennifer is a mother of three wonderful children.  In addition to work and family, she also hosts radio bingo, trivia, and DJ and have met a wide array of wonderful people doing that in the evenings.  Jennifer has four amazing greyhounds and she and her daughters spend many weekends attending lure coursing events with the dogs as well as training in advanced obedience and agility.
